Default '99 Odyssey Transmission Teardown

So, I've decided to rebuild the transmission in our 1999 Odyssey. The van has 190,000 miles and it was eating a countershaft bearing. I have it out of the van, on the bench, and I can't get the cover off. Attached is a pic of the driver's side of the tranny, and the angry cover. I've removed all 17 fasteners, the soleniods, harness, and I've *massaged* the cover with a block of wood and hammer. It won't budge.

Did I miss a fastener, or do I need to pry it off?

check if the range sensor has a bolt holding the end cover on, get your block of wood and go along the edges and bang on it to impact stuck pieces apart. watch the honda rebuild and teardown video from guirez on youtube

Remove the transmission range sensor and see if that helps (removing this switch is actually the first step of the overhaul procedure) . There are a total 16 cover bolts, make sure they're all out. This should be all that needs to be removed in order to take the cover off.
