Car is a 1996 with the 4cyl w/vtec.

Before under quick acceleration the a/c stopped blowing out of the vents. But you could hear it trying to blow air out, but nothing out of the vents.
***edit: I forgot to add that if you drove gradually the a/c worked perfect and was nice and cool.


Now the car completely blows warm air. Fans do kick on, but it seems that the compressor does not engage.

Had taken the car in to see if the a/c needed a charge. After evacuating and refilling, the guy was able to only put 5 oz of r134 back into the system. He tried a second time and was only able to put 11 oz into the system.

Now I'm stuck in hot and humid NW FL without any a/c!!

 

Well first of all,what is the high and the low pressure readings on your gauges.
I would also check for power and ground and the compressor relay.

Not sure as I don't have a set of gauges.
