6th Gen Climate Control Issues
I drive a 2000 Honda Accord LX sedan and I have been having climate control issues for the past few months. All of a sudden, my climate controls stopped working. The only thing I could control was the fan speed. I could not control the temperature of the air, whether or not the air was pointed towards head or feet, or turn the A/C or defroster on. Usually there is a light above one of the buttons indicating what setting is selected (head, feet, defrost, etc), but none of the lights were on. Then I would drive for a few hours, the light would turn back on and my controls would work again. This has happened on and off for the past couple months...and getting progressively worse. One time the controls stopped working for a solid 2 days...then mysteriously turned back on. And now it will not turn on for good.
Usually wiggling the adapter that connects to the multi-pin source fixes it. But now that does not even solve the problem. I've even bought a used climate control unit from another 6th gen accord and the problem is not fixed. I think the actual adapter has a problem, can that be replaced?
I live in Florida and the heat is intense here at this time of the year. My last resort is going to the Honda dealer and get charged an arm and a leg to get it fixed.
Any suggestions are welcomed.

if you think it's in the harness, you will need to get access to a wiring diagram and a troubleshooting procedure for it. I would try to test out the control unit as well to determine if it really is bad. It's always possible that you got a bad used one also.
