Default b20 Sedan.. SHH! she's sleeping!

Just picked up a 93 sedan from a real good guy down in PA.. Picked her up for 2300. She's got about 217k on the body, and 4k on the rebuilt motor. Clutch grabs like nothing else and pulls so hard. Stage 3 with a 11lbs flywheel..

Anyway, this build is mostly to keep track of progress, these pics so just so you get a feel of what im dealing with instead of me explaining it

ah ye. b20b4 under the hood, gsr tranny and gsr head..

engine is COVERD in oily dirty and ****. so is the bottom of the car. the cam seals are shot so oil just pours out.. easy fix, thank god

kissin my hatch

better pic of the engine, cleaned the bay up a bit after this, didnt take a pic tho

gsr cloth seats.. hate em

diirttyy as ***

gross. i love sound tho, was thinkin about throwin just 1 10" sub in it with an amp, throw some plexiglass over i and call it a day.. would look hot imo

found this in the trunk

and these gsr rear discs

dirty

some air horn action

vc off checkin the cam seals.. oil is getting into the spark plugs too. not sure what causes this, was told it could be the o ring?

pretty clean

unless you are putting the entire exterior back to stock, its not a sleeper

thats weird, cuz a bunch of my buddies want me to do that too. but they dont have to drive the hatch everyday like i do.. honestly, i don't like the car a lot.. frame is slightly bent, body work didn't exactly come out how i wanted it to and the paint around the sun roof is peeling a bit.. yeah it's mostly cosmetic, but i've already put shitloads of time and money into this car, i feel like i shouldn't have to keep going. the car is just bad luck.. i'll run the d15 til it goes and then drop a z6 or b16/18 in 'er.

i like to cruise around in the hatch, great mpg and it's a fun car.. the sedan can be the fast one, and i doubt cops will suspect much with that car, they're complete ****** around here

well that's the plan as of now, even though it's changed numerous times in the last 24 hours, you know how it is.. my definition of a sleeper is a ****/slow/stock lookin car that's of course, fast

some more pix up

i took it out for a spin today to the shop i work out and didnt feel vtec kick in at all.. i waited fo 3500, and 4500.. didnt pay much attention to rpms after that but sure as hell didnt feel vtec kick. solenoid is plugged in and no cel. any ideas?

pretty sure vtec typically engages in high 3's low 4's unless otherwise tuned, could be wrong of course, my setup could engage higher though i suppose

thing is a mess. loose wires everywhere, o rings are shot, spark plugs were covered in oil.. headlights are all loose, and oil is everywhere!

sounds like a lot more work than expected

vtec plug supposed to look like this?

wtf does this go to?

cut the power steering line and somehow seal that hole with a nut or something, so dirt, stuff doesn't get in there...

correct me if i'm wrong..

in order to put the b20 swap in, ps had to be removed. the ps rack was just disconnected, and with the like that, it's just manual steering. however it would be more beneficial to put the manual steering rack in, why?

Removing the power steering pump does not make it a manual rack. The racks are completely different from one another. its not designed to run without the power steering pump,

You can swap a B20 into an EG and RETAIN power steering. I dont know who told you you can't keep PS with a B20 swap. Its the same overall swap as an LS and there are LS swapped EG's w/power steering.

nobody told me, i'm just trying to get things sorted out.. i shouldn't have said removing ps makes it manual, but it makes it 'power steeringless'.. i just figured the size of the b20 wouldn't allow ps.. so what are the advantages of keeping ps? also.. when i hit about 90mph in the car, the steering wheel and whole dash for the matter shakes like a bitch, could this be cuz of the ps removal?

Advantages to keeping PS w/a power steering rack? The ability to make tight low speed turns. If you keep the power rack in the car as you have it, it will go bad and you will have to replace it. So you can either loop the system, swap in a manual rack or put a power steering bump back in it. Im pretty sure you can use a 94+ integra power steering pump and brackets and you'd be good.

The B20 is physically/externally the same size as an LS.

The shaking could and more than likely is due to bad/worn suspension parts. Tie rods, ball joints, bad tires... something like that.

alrighty, so power steering will most likely be going back in. found another 93 sedan with an okay body, for $500..

i was told the whole front end had new bushings and suspension.. and i believe it cuz it does look pretty new

shake at 90 could be axles, if it only shakes at that speed than the bushings could be fine. my teg just started a shake at 75mph, everything is new on the front, found out axle busted
