Hi Guys...If the weather holds out we will be there with our black Si, Nice to meet you guys and your cars are really doing it!! We did finally make a good pass with the 16,just before they shut down did some crazy **** to make it run a 10.We have a little left in it...We will be out testing at Joliet before Sunday......Bob sr. ( old guy)
We're in and will be there as well. Hoping for a nice day and another good turn out. Congrats on the 10 second run...glad you guys finally got it done. Its supposed to be 80 and sunny with 0% chance of precipitation.
Hi Josh, yea 3 passes then they said they were shutting down so we pumped up the tires and found out that it kept it spooled, no bog at the line, spun the tires through 1st and the car flew. 10.78 and we had the boost turned down a little through the other gears. and more important no breakage, we have a lot more to do but we are getting there. Are you going to Joliet Friday night. Mike from King came out to help and drove the car for us at GLD and is supposed to come down to 66.Hope your dad shows up, its tough being the oldest at the track....

like always no one showed up for the proFWD class...i had to get a buddy of mine with his all motor k to run just so we could have a class
i know there are more cars out there that are more than able to compete, but no one shows up..
sooner or later they are going to take this class away from us

That's a bummer. I used to have alot of fun at the IW races.
We'd have a full class for pro-FWD back then and some guys would even have to qualify to make the elimination rounds. I remember once it was five VW's and five Honda's throwing it down for one of the eight spots.
When the track didn't show us any love at the end of '08, several racers were dis-enchanted and just didn't care to go back for the '09 season.

Hi to All....If we don't race at GLD where is the next best.Byron?. Cordova ? Gateway in St Louis is a great track.Do they run a regular schedule?....We could go to Joliet I think the only thing there is brackets but that might work ...I'M willing to travel. We are not running anything close to your times but I'm getting a little tired of the BS at Gld....Bob sr
i personally love the atmosphere at import wars the crowd loves the nasty burnouts and appreciate all the hard work put into our cars....and i HATE bracket racing...there is more thrill to heads up racing, wish we had more cars or even a street trim heads up class..there are at least 20 cars that run 11s all day long...if we had a 10.5s and 11.50s heads up class i think we would get more people competing instead of just fun runs....i cant stand going on here and hearing people cry about how GLDs track prep sucks and bla bla bla...like i said before if the track conditions suck for you they suck for everyone else...just bring your cars and have fun...thats what this is all about getting together with people who have the same interest and helping out....
were not here to hate on anyones car, or complain that they are not class legal...we want the sport in the midwest to get big again like it was before...try and get a BOTI out here or a IFO...have people from other states WANTING to come to the midwest to race..
all in all lets set all the BS aside and RUN our ****...lol

Couldnt have said it any better myself. We cant lose this class at gld, the import wars atmosphere is dope. The fans are great, the other tuners and drivers and shops are all cool aswell. We just need more people out here. I will have my car out next year for sure, and hopefully a handful of other cars make it out.
If we get more people in the faster classes we can talk with the track and see if they can prep the track more, but to take that step we need more cars. Lets drop all the bs and complaining and do what we love to do. Its that simple.

This event was weaker than weak. I was actually embarrassed by the turnout. As Eric said, the pro-street class was three cars: two boosted B and one all motor K. Needless to say it wasn't a "fair" class but that's what was needed to get something together so the guys could race. Props to all those who registered and showed up. Hopefully this isn't the death of Midwest drag.
I spoke with IFO. lmao, said doubtful they're ever coming back to chicago. turnout in chicago's terrible. i told you before, i'd run in pro fwd even though i'd lose, but i gotta get ready for IFO (since they have a class for me and import wars does not) before running with you 24+psi boys
Just seemed like a lot of politics in the quick 8 class how does a guy get a buy run against a car that didnt qualify....That one confused me a bit...I wanna start running the heads up class even though I know where gonnna get walked by ILL....jerks....But im running a 10.8 and anything could happen who knows I might win...anyways we just need more cars out there what happend to all the VW guys? and I know there are more 10 sec hondas out there wheres kermit aka ricco we need ya bud. we just gotta get more cars out there otherwise it's gonna die thats how it is.
talk aside, midwest drag involves more street racers. gotta get them to the track is all... how? each crew has a fast car or two. but not all are competitive in pro fwd. gotta get some index heads up. that should attract more racers and get them more involved in racing at the track.

If you want a good track prep come to the next one. Cars from PR are coming down and they should be prepping the crap out of the track for the event. Track felt pretty good to me. Got a 1.60 60" and didn't make it out of 1st. Broke in 2nd. We should have at least 2, maybe 3 cars competing in pro fwd. Beeyond will have their 2 9sec cars out.
J35Monster??? Who are u???
I usally break on the first pass or the tnt before the event. You'll beat me for sure!!! True, Import Wars is not what it was before. Some of it is the attitude against the track prep or lack there of. People don't make the effort to come out anymore. You can blame it on the classes or you can come and run in a class that you somewhat fit into. Sand bagging is allowed.

Anyhow, we are done for this year. Redirecting to new setups on both cars. Never got mine out and probably not planning to until next year. We'll come out and watch for the rest of the year.
Waldo did run a couple high 9's passes 2 weeks ago. I believe 9.92@153mph@31psi is his personal best now. After 11 passes we got into 3 bent valves(still went 10.1@148mph) and will be redirecting to a bigger and more powerful setup for 2011. For me, I guess I'm just lost!!! hehee!!!!
Any video of those 9 second passes? 31psi !? Damn how much power is that thing putting out...I'm only at 600hp at 25psi...next weekend should be sick a lot of fast rotarys so the track should be hooking nice..can't wait...
