BACK FROM THE DEAD, '90 Si
Car sat for 9 years in my Aunt's driveway. 82,500 miles on it. About 2 years ago I was passing thru and noticed it appeared to have been sitting a while. Overheating, followed by no-start, a dumb/shady mechanic, and finally the dealership refusing to take it on due to the dumb/shady mechanic had my Aunt believing it to be a lost cause I was told. Would I like to have it I was asked. I had a flatbed there in a half-hour.
TB, WP, tensioner, front seals, VC gasket
fuel tank, pump, sending unit, filter
4 fuel injectors
main relay
distributor
cap, rotor, plugs
fan timer
clutch master, slave cyls
brake pads, rotors, fluid
brake master cyl
all other fluids
tires
antenna
The A/C is an expansion valve away from working. I'm going to call her Apollo 13. From the scene where they flip the switch to stir the oxygen tanks and its cuts to this long zoom-in of the inner workings of the ship from the switch to to some tiny *** electrical component that goes pffft. After 2 years of plinking away at this thing in my sparest of spare time I can now see the sequence of events. 2 diodes on the fan timer went pffft. Dumb mechanic breaks the splash shield to test the thermoswitch, then decides to run a unfused wire, pinched between grommet & firewall, from battery positive to a blank spot at the rear of the under-dash fuse box. He then tells my Aunt the car is fixed. A few days later, the car overheats again, Aunt gets to a stopping point, shuts it off to let it cool down. When she tries to restart it, the engine cranks but does not start. <At this point, the main relay has decided to start failing intermittenty. A second visit to the dumb mechanic, and he lies that her head gasket is blown, but is backed up for weeks. So she finally takes it to the dealer. Dealer mechanic takes one look at the added wire, and doesn't want to touch it. Aunt parks the 'Lude and buys a Ford truck...
Most of the work done was for problems from sitting so long. At one point some species of bug had lived in the distributor. The fuel tank was the hardest part to find. I drove 6 hours for a salvage piece as they are no longer available from Honda or any jobber house. The goal was to make Import Alliance or bust:

Wow! Very nice!! I loved that generation Prelude. The last 2 years of it were the best! Such a small and nimble car!
Congrats!!
How does the paint look after all those years? Interior?

Some hazing on the hood might buff out, some tiny dings on the sides. Interior is almost cherry, one tiny cig burn on the driver seat, no passenger side floor mats, CD player doesn't work. Everything else works, no rattles
congrats on the pickup... ive had 3 of these and still have one hiding away aswell as a 97...until i get back from my tour.

thumbup, epidemic! Looks like you have put a lot of time into your cars. I have been looking for some sort of front lip myself. I wasn't sure if people messed with H22 swaps on these but apparently they do!
