What the word on the Albins dog set?
I heard there has been one or two dog boxes out in testing for awhile now. Anyone have any more info on them, like how it's doing? When it's official release/price is? With all the problems I've seen recently with other boxes the Albins is my last hope for a transmission. If it can't handle the 26's like the others I'm going to turn my car back into a street car put a baby turbo on it and some 24.5's and build a RWD car. I can't afford to be replacing a 4.6 final and a 3rd gear every 5 hits, especially on the 3-letter gearbox that initially costs 2 times the competitor's pricing.
I have been talking to someone on here about this box. They have it on a 900+ hp car on 26s. They are telling me they like it. Hope they will chime in on this.
I'm up for some info on this to. I have also been looking to get one just scared to at this point because not alot of info about them.
Still waiting to do more test passes on it, as the car (Indub's EK coupe) had to get some work done under the hood as it managed to distort the left and right framerails a bit with the power.. Car has never been wrecked, but with only three engine mounts it managed to bend the top of the drivers side framerail and the inner side of the passenger framerail.. Car is all straight and reinforced now, just need to get some more track time.. Albins obviously wants to make sure this gearset holds up, before they put them into production.. For more info, you will want to talk to Erik at Bullhead Gears though, as he is the distributor for these units..

I think Zol from speedfactory with red ek hatch makes close to 900hp and he as plenty of hits on it....he runs like 9.6x and drive it on the street every day so ....i don't think his id dog ingag...but syncro instead...but 850hp on a syncro set over a year of hits is worth a try.....for the price also is good
so what is so special about these gears then the rest.
also if they have been aroud for a year on a street car why arnt they out already.
sounds like alot of hype just like the overpriced PPG

I have the synchro helical billet gears in my car but it's only making 850-900 on 24.5's. The OP and the rest of the big dogs are awaiting the release of there Helical Dog set. Albins is being pretty cautious in there testing, vs. whoring it out without knowing for sure if it'll withstand the beatings these cars put on gearsets. I think alot of testing and questions will be answered after Sac.
