Default Cooling Fan Runs Randomlt 92 Accord

I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX 4 door sedan with 193,000 miles. A few months ago I noticed the engine cooling fan was running (not the AC fan) after the car had been sitting idle for more than 24 hours. I started the car and the fan shut off, so I disconnected the temperature coolant switch by the upper radiator hose thinking that was the cause. I ran around town with the switch disconnected for about a week, but one day I was welcomed by an almost dead battery with the fan trying to run, so the coolant switch got ruled out. The next thing I tried was another fan relay, again I thought I fixed the problem, but one morning I heard the fan running again. This time I started the engine except this time the fan didn't turn off so I pulled the fan relay out of the fuse box killing the fan. I'm now driving around with no fan relay, thankfully the car doesn't overheat.

What else is there that can randomly turn on the cooling fan after engine shut off? Thanks for your help.

Cooling fan timer or Rad fan cont module or it could still be the switch (I think there are two different ones. I have the manual for the 94-97 so its a little different, but should be very close. Download/buy/get the manual for your year model.
Something I found online "The fan runs continuously (longer than 19-minutes) when the key is removed. The symptom is a dead battery. The fan turns off only when the ignition is turn off then on. 99% chance the fan timer is bad. Usually happens to the 90-93 Accords. "
PLEASE TEST before replacing parts on a guess.

Thanks for your reply. I'll get the manual for the car, but for now could you tell me where is the cooling fan timer located?

Under dash, left hand kick panel. Close to the main relay. If memory serves they actually share the "same bolt". Most of the time there is some writing on the box telling you what it is...hope this helped.

check your fan relay. they tend to stick on when they get that old. I had this happen on my 94, and it drained the battery overnight.
