i will try to include every detail possible. The car starts fine, after driving for a while the car begins to "misfire" i guess would be the proper term. it wont accel above low speeds and if yu press the gas harder it actually dies more. eventually it dies. actions taken so far..
1) replaced each of the 4 ign coils over time and plugs
2) fuel treatment
3) using better gas
4) replacing 02 Sensors.. done by a shop
5) usually the air is on, but i believe its done it once while off
6) the weather is usually hot, i live in SC and its mid summer now.

the car isnt mine, its my brother's wifes car.. im just more mechanically inclined so im trying to help my brother out as much as i can.

 

Is the MIL on? What code(s) are coming up?

Manual or automatic? If AT, what are the gear position indicators doing?

 

yes the mil came on and coded for a misfire in a cylinder. its an automatic, and i dnt believe the gear indicators did anything strange

 

new info.. i attempted to do i ecu relearn, and i was at the step where yu wait for the fan to turn on.. fan never came on, and at he point wher it shud hav the car started to idle rough and cut off.

 

Check and/or replace the radiator fan relay. It's in the fuse box under the hood. When you're looking it the fuse box from the front of the car, the radiator fan relay is located in the top left corner of the fuse box. Also check and/or replace the #4 (20A) fuse in the same fuse box. If they're okay, we'll move on.

 

Sounds like the tdc sensor.. my sister in law car is doing the same thing. When it happens she has to pull over to let it reset and drive...
