Ingall's style camber kit question
I had an ingalls still camber kit installed on gf's crx.. Its been on for about year and a half 2 years top and i was replacing the knock sensor today and i noticed the drivers side camber kit had snapped in 2. Obviously, this isn't under warranty anymore, as Ingalls themselves only offer a 90 day warranty. My question is, is this a common problem? I looked at all the other camber adjusters and there all cracking where the threaded rod goes up into the chassis to bolt town. My gf doesn't drive her car hard at all, and its only lowered 1.5". Im just wondering if this is a common problem, because if it is im going to go with another brand or type of kit. I just want something that's going to be relieable, I really dont need her upper control arm coming free causing complete havoc on the interstate or whatnot. Any input is appreciated!
I have the UCA style camber kit, I've been using it for almost 2 year's now and haven't had any problems yet.I haven't had any personal experience with the ingall's style camber kit though.
A friend of mine had that kit installed by Sears years ago. He drove it almost 90 miles every day, for 4 years before selling the car. He didnt seem to have any problems.
Over torqued?

Maybe it was over torqured, and that could be why its cracking where the threaded rod bolts down to the chassis, but theres no reason for it to snap into 2 peices like it did. That to me is product failure either because an air pocket in the aluminum when it was casted or just poor quality aluminum. I think I might go with the progress kit this time or maybe even the entire upper control arm kit with an adjustable upper ball joint. idk.
I had a generic version of that kit and ditched it after a few weeks. Went with the ingalls camber balljoints. I'm not a fan of that kit at all. With that said, I'm not surprised.
Been racing on those since 2003 on my Crx. Image the abuse they get from the race track and the track I go often is not exactly very flat. The only issue I had was the hard bushings that needed to be replaced....
So, it was just bad luck you had a bad part. **** happens unless we get lots on similar complaints. I suggest you send an e-mail to Ingalls, just to keep them informed. Torguing thoses bolts at the specified torque is very important!
