Default Oil pan gasket replacement.

I was wondering what exactly needs to be done to replace my oil pan's gasket on my d16z6, but without pulling the motor, because I don't have that necessity. But I do have a lift, so I can get under it.

Thanks.

all you have to do is remove the portion of the exhaust that's in the way and then remove the pan. i forget if the flywheel inspection plate has to come off or not. either way, it's easy peazy

Do not pull the engine! It is very easy. Do a search and there are probably a thousand how-to's on it.

When I did mine, I just removed the header down pipe(Bottom portion of a 2 piece header) and flywheel inspection plate. Then the oil pan. It's super easy to do, especially with a lift.

Not sure what torque specs are needed for it but if you can find that info make sure to use it or you will get a leak. Good luck!

It's 9 ft lbs, in a criss cross pattern. Starting from the center. The drain plug is 33 ft lbs.

A nice trick when doing this job....clean oil pan once removed and dry place new gasket on the pan and take sewing thread and thread the string through a few holes and just tie small knots then the gasket will stay in place when putting it back on the engine once you have it up there in place and some bolts in not tight but in, cut and remove thread....

just lift, and since you dont have an exhaust you could prolly just unbolt it from there.. and dont forget when you tighten it up to get the torque specs for it.. there on the owners manual thing
