Question about buying used Koni's
Hi All,
One of my Koni Yellows is blown and I have some questions about replacing it. My mechanic says they have to be replaced in pairs. I found 2 used Koni Yellows on craigslist for $100.
1) Is $100 a good price for 2 shocks? Should I just buy new ones instead?
2) What should I look for when buying them? My mechanic said to check if they leak.
3) They're off a 95 Civic; will they fit my 2000 Integra?
Thanks in advance for the help. I'm a rookie, so please keep it in language I can understand.

Can your mechanic also shed some light as how to the Koni came to be blown?
Or how to avoid that in the future.

Are you aware koni has a life time warranty?
i would contact koni before you buy anything used of craigslist
By the way, even if they were blown and leaked you can clean oil off of them. My friend got screwed on 4 koni's a year ago.

actually koni says this is okay provided it isn't leaking. i have used a new sport and 4year old sport on my corvette before and it was a track car. one leaked after 4yrs so it was warrantied . the most common leak place is at the adjuster when a rubber seal rots.
You adjust them such that the used and new shock have the same damping characteristics.
Doesn't matter if the adjuster positions don't match each other, as they won't necessarily do that on a brand new pair anyway...

Yes, thanks.
Dynoing isn't exactly everyones everydays thing, as you will know.
But that doesn't change its usefulness of course.
