GSR Calipers On EX knuckles didnt fit, Please HELP
Ok so im in the middle of upgrading brakes on my EF. For my set up i got 98 DC2 GSR calipers, rotors and pards that are going on 90-91 EX knuckles. Everything bolts up except the caliper braket is rudding on the rotor. Here are some pics for comparicing
98 GSR knuckles and calipers sit proper:

and then GSR caliper on a EX hub, note how close the bracket is to the rotor:

MY question is, Can i put washers between the spindles and the caliper brackets to move the calipers to the side a little bit? is it safe?

yes it will be safe. My advice would be to buy shim stock from your local hardware store and accurately measure the space so you can center the caliper over the rotor since washers come in funny thicknesses. MAKE SURE YOU TORQUE THE BOLTS AFTER INSTALLING!!! follow the factory torque specs from a helms or service manual and it will be fine as long as you dont find any more clearance issues after you move the caliper over
Thnank you sir. ^^^
I had a similar problem years ago while trying to fit a 88-89 brakets onto 90-91 DX calipers. I just got a 90-91 braket.

Why use Integra calipers compared to the Civic EX calipers? They are the same. Unless your's came with no calipers, pads, ect. That's just why people with ef's try to find the 90-91 ex spindles and brakes because they are Integra size brakes but use the Civic spindle so you keep the geometry correct.
