CT Testing waters: 2006 Accord Hybrid Navi - smooth, powerful, efficient
Just testing waters here. I'm still not 100% sure if I want to sell it. For the right trade, I might be extremely tempted.
2006 Accord Hybrid with Navigation (VIN JHMCN36526C003720) - Graphite paint with gray interior - 129,600+ miles. Comes with a spare set of snow tires mounted on brand new steel wheels. Asking $11,900 or trade for a S2000, ITR or a Toyota 4WD pickup + cash. Feel free to make offers.
-- This is not a well understood car. The 3.0L VTEC V6 engine with VCM makes 250 hp. It has an electric motor to assist it along. This gives it excellent low rpm torque and very smooth power delivery. Fuel economy is identical to a 4 cylinder Accord (24 mpg city/34mpg highway.) This car is heavy but there are some clever use of materials. The hood is aluminum, intake manifold is magnesium(!) and the wheels are VERY lights for 16" rims.
All IMA systems work flawlessly. Auto stop works great. Hybrid A/C compressor works even when engine is shut off. No alternator or power steering pump to worry about. IMA system provides 12v power and this car has EPS. Most IMA components are warrantied for 10 years/150,000 miles!
I am the second owner. This car has all highway mileage. VERY little wear considering the mileage. This is a chance to get a car that is in the same, or better condition than cars with half the miles, but at a price thousands lower.
- Honda Navigation system with voice command. Maps are updated for 2009 version.
- 6 disc CD changer with XM Sat radio. The XM is activated for about 8 more months.
- Dual zone climate control
- Heated front seats and power driver seat
- Leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter
- IMA batter level and charge/discharge meter with ECO indicator
- Outside temp display. Homelink garage door openers
- Keyless entry with security system
- Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA)
- Rear deck spoiler and underbody aero
- Heated side mirrors with LED turn signals
- Paint is 8/10. Front end is has rock chips due to highway driving and there are scuffs on the right rear bumper.
- Interior is 9.5/10. I just need to detail it. Back seat looks like it has never been used.
- Engine runs great. I recently did a valve adjustment. All maintenance is done except timingbelt. I bought the parts for the timing belt but haven't had a chance to do it.
- IMA system - Battery charges/discharges very well. No problems at all. It (and other IMA components) is still under warranty until 2016 or 150,000 miles.
- Brakes have plenty of pad remaining. They last a loooong time on a hybrid.
- Tires have less than 7,000 miles on them. I just did the first rotation. They are the best tires I can get for that size. Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S V rated. They have tremendous grip and a very smooth ride. I also have a spare set of winter tires (Dunlop Wintersport M3) that are mounted on a brand new set of steel wheels. The winter tires have only been used for one season so they have about 6,000 miles on them.
- Accessories - This car has Honda All-season mats in the front, splash guards all around and door visors.
The car needs a good clean up. Sorry for the cell phone pics.
