I know, I know.. totally off topic, but because I value the information offered here on the Type R forum of H-T I thought I would ask.. A friend asked if I would do a little research, he has a 2000 1.8T Quattro Audi and would like to install a clutch / light FW combo. Does anyone know of, a: a good brand or brands, b: a good location on the net to purchase them.

I still remember the Audis's that caught fire in the late 80's.. I had to pay out on a bunch of them and my company did a fairly indepth investigation into the problem..

The upshot was that Audi never did come good for their defective ignitions, and nobody recovered anything from them, and no recalls were done. audi left owners high and dry. World wide probably more than a hundred cars burned ( Audi 5000's)

Left me with a bad taste for the company, so I don't go there.. Good luck with the car...
