i like to do mine every 3 oil changes roughly 8500-9000 miles since its so easy, you can drain your tranny and oil pan at the same time..... 20 mins tops

I think Ruben is right.

I change mine once per year, cheap and easy.

That's a little excessive, especially if you're using Honda MTF.

My Haynes says change it every 30K miles. Owners manual says every 90K, but 30K for severe conditions - which includes driving in temperatures over 90ºF.

This drive axle replacement thread (from FAQ sticky) has a great writeup on changing manual tranny fluid.

He recommends adding fluid thru the VSS sensor which is on top of tranny, all the way back, under the engine intake. Make sure area is clean so you don't get nasty stuff in the tranny. You're not gauging by when it dribbles out the side fill hole when you do it this way so you need to know the amount yours holds. My '97 should be the same and the book and Honda owners manual both say 1.9 qt.

I just checked my manual I downloaded from the internet and it says to change it every 6 years or 144km whichever comes first in normal conditions. Does anyone follow the Honda service recommendations? I only do about 10km per year.
