Need help removing 94 Accord original side skirts
Hey everyone-
How do I remove the (black) original side skirt on the underside of a 1994 Accord. I tried unscrewing one of the screws, but it did not loosen.
I want to sand off some minor rust, prime/paint and then put the skirt back on.
Is there a clip that I am not aware of?
please advise ... perhaps someone has removed them for the purpose of after-market skirts or ground effects and could give me a tip.
know of any diagrams or youtube clips?
thanks!

There are severak screws in the mud guard front and back that hold the side skirt, and several push in (don't know the correct term) screws in the bottom along the skirt, once u got all those out, just slide your side skirt ( I forgot backward or forward), but try that, maybe it help.
Turn the steering wheel in one direction or another so ur front wheel is outta the way. remove 1-3 screws, depending if you have splash guards, at the front of the sideskirt. then get on your back and remove about 6 plastic clips at the bottom of the skirt. use a flathead or philips screwdriver, but be careful because of old age those clips can strip easily. then grab the rear end of the skirt and push the skirt forward towards the front of the car. after the skirt shifts forward, you can then pull off towards you.
Hey Htekken,
thanks for your response. i appreciate it.
When you removed the skirts did you leave them off?
Or did you put them back on?
Was is tricky to put them back on?
Could elaborate on what the splash guard looks like?
Also, do you know what to do if the screws are stripped?
Before requesting help from this forum I did try to unscrew one but I think it was stripped ...
thanks again for your help. Sorry to bombard you with 1 million questions

no i put the skirts back on, car looks old/incomplete without them. it can be tricky to put back on because you have to make sure you line up the holes and clips together to snap it back in. not too bad though. splash guards is a dark piece of plastic that is connected to the front of the skirt. it hangs lower than your skirt. you may or may not have them. if it gets stripped try pushing the head of the clip all the way in. or get crafty and jam something on the head so that it will stick enough that you can turn it to unscrew.
Once again Htekken,
thanks for your help and your quick response.

If the plastic screws on the underside are stripped the easiest way to get them off is just to use some vicegrips and pull them out. They will break but those plastic screws are cheap to replace, you can get them at just about any local auto parts store.
