so are you down with this paint job?? or do you hate it?

 

on that car poopy...on certain cars it can come out very nice...imo

 

center of the hood looks like poop to me. satins and flat colors are actually incrediably hard to spray. seems like they would be easy but id rather spray 3 stage pearls or candies... they hide mistake much easier than the satin blacks do

 

i think it looks dope as hell i think it would look very good on a crx.

 

everything but they hood looks good, i can see the strokes of spray....

oh btw, this car is pretty sweet. i saw it in the skunk2/kw parking lot last year.

 

It only looks acceptible because the model of car it's on has not become old beat POS.

On a CRX or or so, it would be atrocious. The car would have to have a huge innercooler, carbon fibre, Volks, huge Brembos/BBK's, Sparco/Recaros to make me think the owner wanted it that way, as opposed to an "I cant afford paint" rattlecan job.

 

Damn right, I paint alot of satin at work and its a pain in the ***, any **** and you cant polish it, plus if your overlap is not bang on your screwed. Not sure if they are gun lines or just a funny reflection.

 

tiger stripes all throughout the hood, garbage, better off just having it wrapped in matte black vinyl, so when they decided they dont want the car anymore, they can just peel it off, much easier than having to respray the whole thing

nope, the guy definitely striped it. i can't tell you how many satin jobs i've seen screwed up like this one, even on 'high profile' show cars. actually, being in the paint and body industry makes you really spoiled and you end up critiquing everyone else's work. the philly auto show had a scion with satin sections on it and it was all striped. out at SEMA last year there were lots of cars with satin and only one or two that actually looked good.

it's amazing how many people take delivery of a car after a paint job with stripes like that. i would NEVER ship anything out the door that looked like that.
