Tranny Starts Grinding 3rd and 4th
i bought a b16 cable tranny through craigslist. Of coarse i know i was taking the chance of buying a transmission with grinds. But this seem a little strange to me. I threw in the tranny and for the first 30 miles of driving, i had perfect clean shifts. Then out of no where 3rd starts grinding. Maybe 10 more miles later, 4th starts grinding. All in low RPMs too. Then when i throw the car in reverse, the shifter gets stuck in there pretty tight and you have to force it out.
Did i buy a bad tranny? or is it some mechanical error?
When the tranny was installed, i did throw in a brand new stage 3 competition clutch and a ACT light weight flywheel. I drove it like a grandma for the break-in.

if it drove fine for a couple of miles then went bad then ima guess its a mechanical issue.. i put a brand new triple disc torque converter in my dodge cummins and drove it for 30 miles and the clutches inside got locked up.. so maybe something inside went bad ..good luck
