help PLEASE FUEL SENDING UNIT
hey guys hows it going iam in need of help i have a 2000 civic si and i noticed my gas gauge is stuck on full and my gas low light came on so i started doing research on the car, come to find out i was almost out of gas so i bought a new fuel tank sending unit and replaced it and still stuck on full i then disconnected the connector from the fuel tank sending unit and i tested the black and yellow/black wire with voltage tester and iam getting 11.2v to 11.8 volts at the connector the paper i had got with the brand new fuel sending unit says there should be 5 to 8 volts there so i have no clue where to go from here????
No it doesn't I unpluged it and still nothing what else could it be I also tested the connecter on the fuel sending unit and there is a lot more voltage there Then paper says there should be . Paper says there should be 5 to 8 volts . I have 11,1 volts to 11,8 volts . Iam so annoyed all I want is it too work again lol
Voltage read at the sending unit connector on the Yel/Blk wire comes from the fuel gauge, so unusually high voltage suggests that the fuel gauge itself or the cluster is bad. Before you replace either, however, test for a short to body ground in the Yel/Blk wire from the sender unit connector. If none is found, replace the gas gauge or the cluster.
