Anyone going to make it out to this event?

Id like to meet a couple of the FL rr/ax members. Ill be participating in Saturdays HPDE and spectating Sunday.

have any of you done this sort of event before?
I'm wondering if I do the sat. will I get much track time....?

What would you say, 4 or 5 sessions of 30 min each? Something like that?

 

5-25 min sessions, this is my 4th event but Im not sure how Redline runs their DE's.

Seems like you show up and then they assign you to whichever group based of your exp. it should be a lot of fun and Im sure there will be some very fast cars out there testing.

 

my race car doesnt have a passenger seat.
would this be a problem?

 

Potentially, find a friend to let you borrow a pass seat.

Still need to change the oil and bed the brakes, im leaving before 4am to get up there at ~6. So much for getting alot of sleep.

 

Cool track I saw it on way thru FL a lot of history.

 

Andy Meeks (Hooch'n) is there. Red 92-95 hatch, carbon hood. RE-11 stickers on the fenders.

 

Saw him, I just got back. Oil pump failed after the first session.

 

I blew my motor in the 2nd session. I was driving the white 95 civic hatch...sucks but I had fun.

Damn, what happened in your case?

 

Not sure yet, oil pump possibly. I have a nice rod knock and hit temps around 300 degrees. I checked temps and then the next lap I lost power and saw the gauges and was like yup I'm done. I got towed in from 16 and then a flatbed home so time for a new build I guess.

Time to look for an H22 longblock.

 

sadly I spent a ton of money on this motor build, I will be thrilled if the head isnt warped and or damaged. If its just the b18c block I can live with that.

What were you driving? I only saw a couple Hondas today.

did you get any timed sessions? I was there Sun not Sat.

 

No timed sessions for me, they said they ran out of transponders. I timed my laps the first session of the day when I had no traffic in the videos I showed...about 2:46 2 separate laps. I probably could have shaved 2-3 seconds off that with some better lines and handling turn 7 better. I still have a lot to learn and driving solo my first time was awakening like the first time on a track for an hpde.
