My gf's 1999 crv is spilling or spraying coolant. When i open the hood, there's coolant spray on the hood and near the throttle body. I refilled the coolant reservoir to full and proceed to drive her home and whenever I am at a stop, the temp gauge goes up and moves normal when I start driving When I checked the reservoir again, the was 1/2 gone within maybe 10 miles of filling up. Please help me pinpoint the problem. thanks!!

What year crv? Could be a cracked coolant line either from the motor or to the heater core. It could also be a cracked intake manifold or blown head gasket... is the oil contaminated? Could also be a leaking IACV. I am think it is malfunctioning hose from a crack or broke off. Take a look and find the source of where the coolant is coming from. Give us some pictures and a better description of whats going on.

When you have a coolant leak the best thing you can do is ask for help on the internet. We have a much better visual of the problem.

What a useless response!

First thing I would check for is any leaks in the coolant system, make sure your fan and the switch are working. You can take it to a shop and have them pressure test the coolant system to be on the safe side. If they can find no problem then it is a possibility that you might have a small leak in the head gasket.
