even the expensive one is still using a china-made craptastic turbo so you'd need to switch that out. the hp numbers it claims to be capably of are extremely optomistic. also i wouldn't trust the wastegate. Going with a kit is not a bad idea though, i just woulnd't spend that much money on it. i might consider going with a kit like this, and then switching out the turbo and wg.

if you're running this on a stock b18a/b then i wouldn't push it much over 300hp. check this thread out though for some great info on ls-t setups.

fast
reliable
cheap
Pick 2 and the 3rd is what its not.

yet, i havent clicked on the link, but ive seen many ebay turbo kits. Youll be replacing alot more down the road and will end up costing more than if you bought a quality kit from the start..

Youve come this far with your budget and saving.. i would wait a little longer and get the right stuff.

Dont forget to replace clutch and fly or re-surface your old one if needed.

contrary to you guys beliefs but i've ran the same ebay turbo for 4 years consistently, the car is daily driven and the turbo is pushing out 20psi of boost

the intercooler and charge pipe setup is also decent which i've also ran for 4 years consistently

here's what to do, buy the kit, keep the turbo and FMIC setup and sell or scrap the rest cause it's useless garbage

b18b have made upwards of 300whp with little modifications, in fact my friend had a b18b turbo in his ek hatch, bone stock engine with a custom one-off complete turbo setup using a 17c turbo from a cyclone and made 266 whp, the car was ridiculous in power and spool time was incredible with that turbo and to top it off the effiency of that turbo made it sound like the car had a major boost leak cause of the loud spooling sound and the car had full exhaust on it

would this be a bad turbo kit to run with a consistent 8-12 psi and maybe max like 16 - 18 for when im trying to go for a cruise with friends?

as stated above i would probably switch out the wastegate for a tial 38mmm

what would you recommend with this kit? because ive seen some people run pretty shitty setups daily for over a year.

i ran a similar kit on my D for over a year with no issues @ 7psi. just make sure u put a oil restrictor on it, but if ur looking for a quality kit ill look somewhere else or part ur own

the 1st one or if u get the 2nd one change the turbo manifold i've had i similar one on my dc2 with a tial wastegate that cost $260 and the manifold with downpipe cost $120, and the manifolf not only crack but the flange for the wastegate completly separated only the vacuum hose save the wg.
