CRX WITH GSR SWAP... TRANSMISSION HELP!
Ok, so I just recently swapped my crx with a b18c1. Everything went good and then the transmission went bye bye on me, it cracked and is no good no more. So I just bought a new s1 transmission and tried to put it on but I'm having the hardest time trying to align it with the engine. I didn't take out my engine or nothing, just the transmission, I even lowered the engine a bit and still can't get it in. Anybody know of an easier way to put it in? Do I really have to take out the whole motor again? Any help would be good!

I have a jack under the engine and under the tranny. But now I can't even twist the tranny into place and can't slide it in. I took off the bolt on the side mount and lowered the engine a bit so it can be easier and it still won't go in. Bout to give up haha
the clutches could be different. you can confirm this by removing the dics and putting it on the input shaft of the new transmission to see if it is too small. its a small chance but gives you some insight.
Hmmm well the s1 and the y1 I did have in there before have the same number of slots on the shaft. Would I have to drop the whole motor again?
Putting the trans back on with the engine in the bay is NOT fun. Most likely you just have to keep at it... When I had to do this on my D series it nearly drove me insane getting it to mate up. It was too easy with the whole thing out of the car so I wasn't expecting the pure hell I got.

Ya this thing is driving me nuts, I'm bout to just sell the whole car haha. Na but Most likely we'll just drop the motor and put it in out the car. Then put it all back in Ahhhhhhhhhh!
I was about to do that out of frustration but I decided to just keep on trying for one more evening and sure enough I managed to get the piece of crap together. You really gotta move it around.. play around with the jacks holding up it and the engine.
Sooo I totally f***ed up! The tranny I got is actually a 92-93 ys1 transmission that has a bigger input shaft! My clutch didn't fit it, so now I need a new clutch for that transmission :/ DAAAMN! FML
Yes, it has the larger mainshaft....all that means is, you just need a 1992+ b series clutch dish...thats it!!!!!! The pp is the same!
Ya I just read on here that all you need is a clutch disk, damn and my clutch only has about 10 miles on it lol. ACT stage 2 :/
So anybody got a clutch? LoL
So anybody got a clutch? LoL
So it ended up being that the new tranny that I got is a big spline YS1 92-93. And it is not an ls tranny that's for sure
I have one problem wit it tho, 4th gear does not go in. If it doesn't go into one gear what could it be? Would it be the syncro or the actual gear? would I have to replace the synchro or buy both 4th gears, the one for the counter shaft and the main shaft?? Someone heelp!
