Cable tranny in a eg hatch, without a conversion kit?
I have a freshly rebuilt ls motor that I'm wanting to swap into my eg hatch, but I need a transmission.....
I found a cable ls trans for dirt cheap and i was wondering if i could do a hydro to cable conversion WITH OUT buying a conversion kit.
A buddy of mine said instead of buying a kit, I could just swap out my pedal rack with one from a ef and use a clutch cable from a da integra.
Is this possible, or do I have to buy a kit? Thanks!!!

Why do you want a cable trans when your car is already setup for a hydro clutch which is better.
you can get a hydro trans for cheap esp. an LS if you look around you should be able to pick up a type r tranny for cheap as well
I know I can get a CTR trans for 300 shipped.

^ that is dirt cheap.
op i would just source an LS trasmission for cheap. They can be had around my area for $200 or less. Check craigslist or people parting out integras. Also check the market place on this forum or your local forums.

i think you will definitely need the trans mount that comes with the kit. too bad i left my conversion kit back home (1700 miles away) or i would give it to you for cheap. i lost all the other pieces except the mount.
Even if you found a way to rig a DA or EF cable and pedal assembly, you will still need a Hydro to Cable Conversion Mount like this one. The stock hydro trans mount will not properly bolt up to the cable transmission. Also, the Hasport conversion Mount kit includes the bracket to mount the clutch slave cylinder so that it can actuate the cable trans clutch arm.
I would just save another hundred bucks and get a hydro trans....
It will be easier and more worth while.
And if you have to buy adapter sh*t it may all come out to the same amount as just buying a hydro trans.
Not only that but it is the trans that was ment for that cars set up.....
