Chirping noise when clutch is released - Honda Accord 2001
Hi,
My 2001 Honda Accord make a chirping noise (sounds like crickets) when the clutch is released, both idling or driving. When I press the clutch slightly (even just rest the foot on the clutch), the noise completely disappears.
From the forum, I learned that this could be the throwout bearing (thanks for the info, btw
). Now my question: I'm currently on vacation and I plan on driving home (about 800 miles) tomorrow or Saturday. Will this be an issue? Am I wrecking my car if I do that? What are your suggestions?
Thanks!

Definitely drive carefully if you must because you are on borrowed time. my car lasted a week or so before i couldn't move the car at all. when the clutch was pushed in the sound would go away but with it out it made little gerbil sounds. it ended up being my input shaft bearings. But I also did a 5k rpm launch on 10psi so you might be alright!
Yeah, it's probably your throwout bearings. I've gone about 30k so far since I bought my car and still not having any problems so you can probably go until the clutch finally goes out and change it at the same time. That's what I'm gonna do.
