My friend just bought a 91 CRX with a full B16a swap in it. However I'm trying to help him out with a HID kit, but im not sure which size bulb to buy. He has the Stanley JDM Si-R Housing, I bought a 9006 bulb size kit not realizing that he had different housing and of course they dont fit. Any suggestions on the bulb size of these housing.

I've never heard of that. Is it like a smaller version of an H4?

It's unfortunate, but one of the few things that Japan got that was not as good as usdm. As mentioned, they use and H4H buld which never came in ANY usdm car/truck. Also, the headlights are from a rhd car, so the beam shine into oncoming traffic, plus the housings and lenses were all plastic!

Personally, i hate the rhd jdm headlights. I sold mine off in favor of some LHD, glass housing, H4 bulb housings from Europe.....way better!!!!!!!!!!!

Some were even height adjustable!

 

I installed a Philips HID kit (9006 based) into my jdm sir housings about 8 years ago. It took some work but it is possible. Its all about how much time you want to spend.
