i've been hearing this weird sound lately, happens when i'm in reverse or first gear, essentialy whenever your stepping halfway on the clutch, also when im in 5th gear ( gunning it from lower rpms or deccelerating in gear). it also happens when at a stop, you step on the brakes then slowly let out the clutch in first gear, while still being on the brakes. so i pulled my tranny, refaced my exedy flywheel and replaced the clutch disc (FCC). so after all that the noise is still there, is this clutch chatter noise normal?
I have the same noise. I am not running the transmission "plate baffle" cover. Its the little peice that covers part of the transmission housing. (next to the oil pan) I cannot run this plate because my header (SMSP) runners are 4 across (0000) instead of stacked (88). the header wont fit preperly with the plate on. I beleive thats why my flywheel/tranny is so noisy. Are you running this "plate baffle." If not I've been told that a B16 plate baffle will work (for header clearance) because its a thin sheet metal baffle unlike the B18c baffle which is cast.
