Default Who thinks we should all have like a SELLER RATING so that we don't get SCAMMED???

I've been noticing on Honda-tech lately that there have been ALOT. I mean ALOT of scamming going on. I mean, look at the first thread in the classifieds. There is 15 FULL PAGES on people getting fucked over. I myself have gotten fucked over and the guy who did it ( sig ) will pay. I really think that the administrators and moderators should serioulsy consider having a RATING SYSTEM. Maybe something similar to EBAY? We should have like a 100/100. Start out with 0 points and when we sell something. The buyer puts a review for you and moderators add points to your rating. Say if you sell something and everything goes well and the buyer puts up a good review? Moderators check it out and give him say 20 points. Now you would have 20/100. Maybe even have a vouch list. I also think that if you wanna be authorized to sell something you should have to provide LOTS of info. Numbers and addresses, refrences. And if there is a privacy issue , maybe it should only be able to be viewed by MODERATORS and get info upon request of getting scammed. What do you guys think?

I think it is a great idea in theory. The only problem I see is who determines the ratings. The moderators have enough to do without giving ratings to sellers. The best thing to do is ask for references. If your buying from a newbie you just have to take your chances.

Yea but see that's the point. Newbies shouldn't be allowed to sell anything in the classifieds. They should have to wait 15days just like they can't go in the MEMBERS CORNER or be able to recieve PM's

Yup, but I wouldn't mind a seller rating. It would just benefit the buyer of course.

Yeah we easily could have a system set up where we post opinions about other users on honda tech. After any transaction we give them either a or based on how the tranaction went through! QUICKTEG is right we need to do this. After awhile no one will be getting ripped cause they will have an entire wrap sheet to check before they go through with a transaction with anybody! Whoever the system admin is......PLEASE CONSIDER THIS WE NEED IT! THANKS TYLER

We should have SOMETHING at least. Not just a waring that Honda-tech.com isn't responsible. The classifieds section is huge. Sellin parts everyday. I would understand if not alot of people used the classifieds but MOST USERS DO....

I agree there should be some sort of rating system and that newbies should have to become a member before selling.(not bashing on the newbies I was once a newbie myself.) But something has to be done 15 pages of ppl getting ripped off is to much.

my $.02

good idea we should have some kind "honda tech feed back thingy" were people that sold/bought somthing from you leave you feed back? i think it would be kinda impossible considering the HTML it would take to do that

but for the idea

maybe we can just help out the moderator like....having our own reference page. somehow have a tread with only things that we've sold or done transactions with. like lsvtechybrid. he had like a tread with peoples comments about him. it was good enough for me at least

One another note. dont forget that 15 pages include all those replys and comments from other ppl... on the ebay type idea.... i say do somethign like the poll.. you only get one click or somethign that keeps track..

An idea worth exploring is to have sort of an escrow or clearinghouse. Although this will raise the cost of selling and buying but it will definitely be very safe. I think this will be the price for peace of mind.

I'd defnitely agree with this great idea. It gives me and others as well more confident in what they are buying and receiving!!!!! This is definitely a great idea.

Let me explain it further. There could be variations to this idea. We cannot go to an escrow company since the cost will be prohibitive. Someone trustworthy could start this service but it will definitely be run as a full time job eventually depending on how many people use the service. After seller and buyer agrees on a price or trade, both parties send in either their item or payment to the escrow/clearinghouse. If the escrow or clearinghouse is satisfied with was originally agreed upon by both parties, then their respective item or payment are sent to them. Drawback is item is now sent twice....first to clearinghouse then to buyer. This will raise the cost but everyone is protected.
