Help with 96 Accord that stalls
I have a 96 accord 2.2L Vtech. It stalls while driving, but it seems to only do it after car reaches operating temp. cold days i can drive the car longer then hot days. we have replaced the ignition switch, the fuel pump relay and the ignition coil. the rpms will go crazy and then drop to zero, car looses power. sometimes it takes up to 15 mins. to start. sometimes it will start and die and soon as i put the car in gear. any ideas on what it could be?
I had this same problem with a previous car and I took it to a shop. They did a 3-step fuel injection system cleaning on it. 2 of 3 steps are simple a fuel additive poured into the gas tank, they cleaned the throttle body, but the 3rd was a can of compressed something they sucked through something, maybe the fuel rail somehow, im not sure but it cleaned my injectors of caron build up they told me. Black smoke was coming out the exhaust for awhile when they were doing it......but my car never stalled again.
