Honda Accord A/C Issue
I have a '95 Honda Accord 4 cyl 2.2L
If I remember correctly, the air had been blowing cold just fine in late April. Hadn't driven the car until recently. Took it to a shop close to home, they are Honda certified. So I went to get a diagnostic on the A/C system and was told that the relay to the compressor was broken and that I need to replace it and the discharge line from the compressor to the evaporator. They used the R134a with the dye so that is the only leak. So I replaced the relay today and the compressor kicks on, check. Low and high side pressure normal, check. BUT the compressor seems to pull a ton of juice and the car acts as though it needs a tune up. Now it was shown to be full at the shop, but when I plugged the DIY R134a on the line, it showed to be in the red(mechanical error) and does blow COOL but not COLD. So my question is do you think that the compressor is actually overfilled or is the discharge line leak actually making that much of a difference. And one more thing, I live in AR and the temp has been over 100(without heat index) for some days now. Any suggestions will help.

Exactly. Do you have manifold gauges on them? It could just be overfilled... but no idea without the high and low side pressures.
Can you get them at idle and then again at 2000 RPM or so?

First off, thanks for the replies, but the A/C is blowing cold now as of this morning. But since I'm seeing A TON of people having a very similar problem, I'll tell u what I did. I first switched the fan, without the compressor on, to the recycled air from outside and let it run continuously for 5 min, then switched to (max), the recirculating air inside for 5 min. also. Then I hit the AC button and did the same thing for 5 min. I hit the gas a bit and let the A/C run for about 10 min. When I came back outside it was blowing COLD on 1, and Arctic Freeze on 2. Didn't feel the need to go to 3 or 4. The line was cold and sweating. Drove it around the block a couple of times with as many accessories on as I could. It's still fine as far as I know, my brother drove it to work. And by the way, the low side pressure was either 45 or 46 psi but the shop checked the high side and I don't remember that number. Again thanks for the replies and I hope this helps someone else.
