Default Tranny clicking?

New here.. I have a 92 Accord LX manual tranny. Last year I replaced the right CV, including the seal, a month ago I replaced the left cv, seal included. Still clicking when I turn right. Mechanic told me to drive a week, if it was still happening to bring it back. I brought it back, they replaced the CV again, but the clicking has not gone away. Took it back in and they told me it was my tranny going out. When I question why it only clicks when I turn right, they said they were not sure. Now, 3 weeks later, it still clicks when I turn right, and occasionally continues the clicking after the turn is completed. The only time it does NOT click is when I make the right turn with the car in neutral and the clutch pushed in. Lots of miles on my car, but after having the whole top half of the engine rebuilt last year, new clutch 2 years ago, and both CV's, not exactly willing to give up yet. Anyone ever hear of a tranny clicking as it goes out? Mechanic said something about the differential..don't know exactly what he said said since I was kind of numb after hearing bad tranny.... Honda wants a bill to tell me yes or no or maybe. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know what brand the CV axle was, and if it was new or a rebuild/refurbished unit? The rebuilt units can be garbage from the get go.

Tell the mechanic that you will pay the difference for the parts only for better axles, normally if the clicking is happening on a right turn, then the left side is making the noise, most of the time in my personal experience, not 100% though.

I usually jog along side of the car while the owner drives and I get next to the car and listen for the noise and see if I can tell which side is making the noise, dont get run over.

The left cv axle was replaced TWICE because of the clicking. Not refurbished, both new. The brand is unknown. BUt now that it is clicking after the right turn while I am going straight....I am thinking that I have never heard of the CV clicking when it is not in a turn. I heard AAMCO will check the tranny for free. Going to go there this week.

if the test is free, i would go for it too. if its okay, why dont you just buy a good brand, maybe even an OE honda one, and take it back with the part and have them put that one in? at least then you would know that its a quality part, and if the problem persists, you might need to look into other areas. as it stands though, you dont know wtf they are putting on your car.

granted, even with cheap parts, the odds are pretty slim that you would get 2 bad ones in a row... unless you have luck like mine!!

Many times when you buy parts from the same shop who only buys from one vendor, you can continue to get bad parts from the same place, it happens a lot.
