It's nothing fancy (both the car and the video) but I keep meaning to get back out there and do more video work so we went and played around today.
Thanks for looking

I didn't want to go with anything too serious on account of it being a pretty close to stock RSX.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I was wishing it had turned out better but I'm not too upset over a tiny bit of filming with no equipment other than the camera.

Nice vid! But yeah if you're looking for better songs to be in your future videos, check out Blue Scholars. I've seen a lot of Honda videos out there with Blue Scholar's songs and it makes the videos seem even hotter lol. Just a heads up

Oh don't worry...I have a whole slew of more "traditional" car video type of music on my machine here. I just wanted to have something kind of fun for this since it was more just us playing around than getting really serious about it.
Thanks for the heads up all the same. I'll check them out

It really does seem that it's a love it or hate it color. I happen to think it looks pretty sweet but it's not for everyone.
Thanks
Thanks
Some nice shots in there. What did you shoot this with? Also, some insight into your shooting equipment, process and editing would be much obliged. I'm also a (hobbyist) filmmaker. However, If I may throw my two cents:
Either more action to make it more exciting and captivating or shorten the length. About halfway through it got a bit tedious watching the (stock?) car rolling around at low speeds. But I liked your use of the vintage style filter. And I'm with everyone else on the song choice. I've found straight instrumental music works best.
for your work. Please share more info!

Shot with my 5D MK II.
I agree. I would have liked to shoot a more interesting subject matter but I was working with what I had at my disposal. And this is only about an hours worth of shooting.
I kept telling my buddy "Drive a little faster" and things of that nature but I think he was leery of doing so in this setting so I worked with what I had.
I have every intention of shooting some more interesting stuff later on down the road but I just wanted to dust off my "skills" as they hadn't been used in awhile.
I agree that instrumental music would've been better but I didn't want it to come off too serious being a stock RSX. I guess I missed the mark on that one.
As far as other equipment goes I shot 90 percent hand held. The only non hand held shot in the whole thing was the shot where he was driving slow and the pillars kept blocking the view. I had the camera on a suction cup mount on the rear of my buddies car for that shot.
I edited in Final Cut Pro and just played around with the colors a bit using Magic Bullet.

If you have a 7D I wouldn't spend the money to upgrade. The only real bonus you'll get is that of being full frame but the 7D is a GREAT rig (plus you can shoot 60 frames a second (mine only does 30) which can create some VERY slick slow motion if used properly.
But I do love my 5D. It's a great rig and very well built. I had a 30D before it and a 20D before that.
I like the built in flash for general purpose uses: birthday parties, family get-togethers, etc. I'm using a 40D currently so either the 7D or 5D would be a step up. Truth be told, I really just want the HD video function. Camera and HD vid in one? Yes, please.

Ah I totally read wrong. I thought you said you had the 7D. I'm stupid. haha
The other thing that kinda stinks about the 7D/5D HD recording is there is no autofocus while recording so if you want to move around and keep stuff in focus you have to do it yourself. Not always an easy task.
