Default D16A1 into 1990 CRX DX

Ok, so I drove three hours yesterday to pick up a crx parts car, that came with a B16 swap ready to install, needless to say the B16 turned out to be a D16A1 DOHC out of an '88 Integra. I got a really good deal on everything so I brought it home. It comes with the wiring harness, ECU, dizzy, trans, half-shafts, motor mounts, guage cluster, etc. I have been doing a lot of reading on this swap, and now thinking if I can do it it will be something different. I know we can make it fit, my husband is a welder/fabricator by trade. The question I have is for THOSE WHO HAVE DONE THIS. I dont need any comments from people who say just put a B16 in instead. I have this motor, I am going to MAKE it work. So here it is: should I go ahead and strip out all of my D15B2 parts and switch everything over to the Integra parts? Or is there some of my parts that I can use, like the wiring harness with minor mods? My Crx already has the DPFI manifold, can I use it or is it more beneficial to use the MPFI can came with the D16? Can I mod my D15 headers to fit? I also have been searching for some performance upgrades, they seem to be few and between. Is the ZC really similar enough to interchange parts? Is this D16A1 really that different from other D-series, besides that its DOHC?

Any info from experience or crediable informative links will be much appreciated.

All of the d-series parts will be interchangeable, though I'm not sure about the intake manifold.

Definitely use the d16a1 intake manifold.

Use the original dpfi engine harness, and do the necessary modifications for the mpfi conversion.

The only issue (slight) You'll have is with the engine mounts, but since your husband is a fabricator that should be a breeze.

As far as parts go, there are VERY few companies producing parts for these, but they do share a ton of parts with the DOHC ZC. CHeck out exospeed.com
