my ef keeps dieing
i have 1990 ef with dpfi bolted onto a d15b7 head and a d15b1 bottom end. my problem that i am having is after letting it sit and coming back to it will die unless I am keeping the rpms up (i dont have a tach ) and if i dont keep the rpms up the car will just get lower and lower then just dead . i was messing around with it cause i new i could probably kill it and i put it under full electrical load high beam, defroster, and etc. and when i pumped the brake pedal i was able to get the rpms low enough to were it died.
i just got new ngk wires , the spark plugs are ngk less then a year old , new distributor rotor, and the gas isnt that old either. whats your thoughts cause its now happening when im driving in traffic and i have to wait like a couple minutes and then floor the pedal when im starting it to go

u could mess wit the dizzy advance it a bit and the idle should go up.but if its ur altornador have ur buddy keep car idleing and unplug a battery plug and if it dies its ur altornador or check ur vac line and ur iacv behind the manifold 9 outta ten its that keep me posted
it might be the main relay, if its hot there. The main relay gets hot from working so it can go bad, then sitting in a hot car dosent help.
Its under the dash above your hood release. When you turn the key do you hear a hmmm noise for about 2 seconds?

just sayin....check it out
Thanks for correcting my Vernacular (big word). I will check the battery /alt. tomorrow and I will see if i can find any signs of moisture and what not. Yes i do hear a hmmm for about 2 seconds and the fuel pump whine seems to be much more prominent if i have not driven the car versus if its been driven around all day. thanks for your input

Damn you guys are retarded. Look through the FAQ's you'll probably see more How-to's that I've created then stupid questions being asked and illiteracy at its finest in this thread.
Could I help him? Yes. Will I? No. Peace out. Off to make a new How-to.

okay had enough time today to at least check the alt. and verify for spark so thats crossed off the list and in the center of the spark its white blue and the out side of it is yellow orange
my grammar isnt the best i know i justed wanted to show i could at least spell one time right and i did read a haynes manual but i like to hear from other ef owners from there past experiences to help diagnose the problem
