Need Help Removing My Head
I need to remove my D17 head and take it to a shop. Blew a spark plug, need a rethread,
I need good directions on how to do that, also, what new headgasket? Felpro?
Can I reuse stock head bolts and how do I do engine timing

Can I reuse stock head bolts and how do I do engine timing
1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Start by removing the PGM-FI main relay #2. (it's the one on the left, behind the glove box)
- Start the engine and let it idle until it stalls.
- Remove the gas cap to relieve pressure in the tank.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the bolt and the fuel feed-pipe mounting bracket, followed by the quick-connect fitting covers.
- Clean any dirt off the quick-connect fitting before removing it, then disconnect it.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the throttle cable, and cruise control actuator cable.
4. Remove the intake resonator.
5. Remove the IAT sensor and breather tube, then remove the air filter housing.
6. Remove the brake booster vacuum hose, PCV hose, and EVAP canister hose.
7. Remove the ground cable, upper and lower radiator hoses, heater hose, and water bypass hose.
8. Remove the two bolts that secure the connecting pipe, then remove it from the water passage.
9. Remove the adjusting plate mounting bolt, locknut and mounting bolt, then remove the power steering belt and pump. (don't disconnect the PS hoses)
10. Remove the alternator.
11. Remove the A/C and power steering hose brackets.
12. Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from the intake manifold.
13. Support the engine with a jack and a block of wood under the oil pan.
14. Remove the upper engine mount bracket. (driver's side)
15. Remove the exhaust manifold.
16. Remove the intake manifold.
17. Remove all of the ignition coils.
18. Remove the throttle cable clamps, and the engine harness holder from the valve / cylinder head cover.
19. Remove the valve / cylinder head cover, followed by the timing belt.
20. Remove the camshaft pulley and back cover.
21. Remove the cylinder head bolts, in sequence, 1/3 of a turn at a time. Repeat the sequence until all the bolts are loosened, then remove the head.

I would use an OEM gasket, but I'm sure you can get away with something from the local parts store.
I would also replace the head bolts with new ones.
When it comes time to reinstall the head, you'll need to set the crankshaft to TDC. There is a mark on the oil pump drive pulley, and an arrow on the oil pump. They need to line up. The camshaft pulley also needs to be lined up. There is the word UP and it needs to be on top while the (two) marks on the pulley are level with the top edge of the head. We'll come to all that, along with the torque specs and sequence when you get the head back from the shop. However, if you've never done this before, you might want to just have them do it for you.

Those are excellent directions.
Are there pics to go along anywhere?
I cant transverse mounted engines. I can take the head of my quest in under an hour. Took me 30 minutes just to remove the valve cover on my civic
