Type S transmission
Hey folks,
I heard the other day that Speedfactory use to build "Stage 1" K series transmission. Does anyone else still build these or have knowledge on them?
Now I don't know much about this and I tried googling around with no luck. But here is the scoop! I want a new transmission for my type s. I would like to get one that has the typical issues that type s trani's have fixed.
I just bought my car 2 weeks ago and it had a 4th gear grind and a loud main bearing/ throw out bearing. Should I look for a built transmission that won't have this problem? This will be my DD (which I will supercharge down the road) or should I look for a used transmission that doesn't have this problem or should I put a new bearings in and keep pushing the transmission?
Suggestions on what to do?

big power cars use 5 speeds with straight cuts, but if yer never gona see more than 500 a good 6 speed will be fine, tearing down a trans is easy getting it all back together in the right order is another mess. if you can find a reliable trans shop that u can bring it to and have them tear it down and replace your bad parts it can be cost effective. but while you have it apart i would suggest a good diff and taking the time to put a clutch in that will work with your power goals.. maybe even a lighter flywheel if it suits your needs.
