i was just thinking if there was a cheap, easy do it yourself way to just make my OEM floormats look new for my 90 crx, i have actually kept them pretty good for all these years, it just wore a hole where my brake or clutch heel dug into it, but otherwise they are just a little faded in color,
does anyone know of any methods of buying like a sheet of good quality carpet and tracing the shape of the floormats and cutting it and having maybe an upholstery shop just stitch them ontop of the old floormats ??
i'm sure people are just going to say "just buy new ones", but i can't afford OEM ones and the ones at auto stores are small and slide around and don't fit the exact shape like the OEM ones that are meant to fit the car, so thats pretty much why i was just thinking of maybe trying something like this.
if i did it would i need to have something sewed around the edges of the carpet, like those vinyl borders that seal around the border of the floormat?
just wondering if anyone has done it or heard of any way of doing that type of thing,
so any thoughts or opinions would be cool
