Default gsr with Type-R pistons??

i got the car about a year or so ago and thougt it was a gsr for the longest, but whenever i ran my buddy with a gsr teg with some bolt ons, i left him like he wasnt even moving. i later took the motor out for a rebuild cause it stared smoking, and noticed the head was a pr3-4, when the head was off i noticed type r pistons which i know is higher compression, so now i was thinkn maybe the cams are also and thats why it was so quick but i had them mic'd and they are gsr cams. How is this soo much faster than a gsr??
