Default ecu tuning help obd2

thats right going against the grain lookin for obd2 tuning options for my 96 civic with
b20vtec
aem short ram
2.5 in dc catback
aftermarket no name headers
blox fuel pressure regulator
si head
si trans
obd2 gsr p72
a/c
power steering

my thought is i should find a better stock honda ecu like a si or a type r or is there an aftermarket solution to my problem and i know i can get a jumper and run hondata on an obd1 but i want to be able to pass inspection so any thoughts on how i can tune my ecu would be welcome and also have a 99 civic si ecu avalible for 40 bucks if that might be better i dont know alot about ecu's so any help is mutch appriciated
thanks

Hmm.. there's a couple of options - Not associating cost with any of them.

Power FC - standalone management for OBD2A (though one could use a conversion harness)

E-manage ultimate - a nice piggyback system that works fine on NA and FI cars ,though the H-T masses frown upon it because they don't understand it, nor do they want to.

AEM F I/C - more U.S. oriented piggyback system than e-manage that can work on both NA and FI cars. Again, not as understood by H-Ters because it is not popular, not to mention, technical support staff is anemic, firmware updates are needed too often, and installation is just a PITA

Unichips Q+ - again, similar to AEM F I/C for the same reasons.

I myself stayed OBD2B with our Power FC on my wife's car and only used a conversion harness on my frankenstein-like B-series. Drives like clockwork.

E-manage is great, pricey but great.
OP, do not use an SI ecu, that basemap is meant for a 1.6L, you're running a 2.0L so think about it for a minute. The best OEM ecu you could use without a tune (which I would advise against) would be an ITR ecu.

That's because the Power FC is a full computer and will eliminate a lot of codes. Well, that narrows you down to the others. good luck to you.

It won't matter if he's adjusting by getting a full tune by the car. whether it is 1.6L, 1.8, or 2.0L, all that make the difference will be eliminated when he goes for the complete tune.

Right, any ecu can be used if he does get it tuned, but I was speaking from the standpoint that he was only going to run a stock ecu w/o getting a tune.
