Default engine swap trouble

i got a 90 dx for a daily driver with 200k and a month later the engine let go. I bought an engine from a 92 civic d15b7 and paid a buddy to throw it together. it wasn't right from day one. so after fixing the pcv setup and tightening the cam gear and retiming I took it in for an emission test. the radiator blew up on the dyno.

on the b2 engine the fan sensor is on the block, this wasn't the case on the b7. I was assured it was just a knock sensor. so today I cut a spare pigtail for the sensor on the thermostat housing and wire it to the old bullet wires yellow to yellow. Is this going to work?

I swapped in a cluster with a tach. it idles at almost 1100. the codes showing are 10 and 14. so my final request is does anyone have a picture they could upload of the stock wiring at the manifold or tell me which plugs go where? it drives me insane when they use the same plug for different sensors in the same area.

10 is idle air temp sensor, 14 is idle air control valve. they both share the same 2 pin connector. quite possible you simply reversed them.

Got the sensors hooked up and after a reset the cels gone. Now wiring the fan switch to the new sensor doesn't work. So I wired it to be constantly on. While trying to get the bubbles out of the coolant I let it idle with the cap off. It started to overheat. The water never moved and just started to smoke. Is the water pump shot? It has a new thermostat.

yea my guess would be either the water pump or the new t-stat is stuck closed.
