I woulda stripped them down, polished them and had a FTW moment!

they are really easy and cheap to polish if you search for a DIY

but the black look really bad IMHO, but its your ride.

i went through the stage of painting my SI wheels i know how it goes. I ended up ruining them tho so i sand blasted them and im still at a stand still. I would paint them silver to make them look like the UKDM EM1 wheels. And when you go to get tires The car before you was probably an EM2 or a 2001 plus honda civic which had larger wheel wells i would suggest going with a 195-55-15. Belive it or not the larger tire diameter messes with the accuracy of your spedo. Im having the same problem

Wow you guys are brutal! my personal opinion is they do look better than what you started with but they look like you rushed through it and used cheep paint. I would strip them sand them and try to match the body color a little closer. but hey man A for effort.

I notice a trend lately with black wheels on lots of rides, if you like it who cares what other people think.

Myself I like the stock polished/matte silver

i do admit that the picture doesnt do it justice, the wheels the dull black really give the car an agressive look in person, the car has a black hood and top, and this picture was a bad one to post, and really i like it because it took all the blemishes out of the wheels , imo i dont really care for polished wheels on honda's but to each his own, perhaps i will find a better camera and post more pics later

They will get dirty as hell just to let you know, as does any flat coloured paint.

Polished> all.

Have you considered Satin black? I sprayed my Jeep wheels satin black, and IMO they look waaaaaaaay better than flat black. They always look clean, without looking dirty or too glossy.

As seen here, cause I like whoring my pics around. I know, not a Civic, but too bad lol:

As far as looking dirty - that picture was taken in February after driving it for 3 months on snow and salt without washing it.

Bro, I have Si wheels as well. Strip them down with aircraft stripper and then after you wipe it off, spray a lot of coats of clearcoat on it. It will look so good.

EASY? He would have to sand every wheel with about 5 different sandpaper grits. Sounds like a b!tch to me! I do agree that they would look sexy though.

You should redo them with satin. Flat black is just too dull. Definitely better than polished IMO.

i hate when people paint SI's or Fat Fives...you could've sold the Si's for around 3-400 with the tires and bought aftermarket slipstreams or other knockoff wheel for cheaper than that if you wanted black wheels

poor Si's lol
