Check your grounds. Set a meter to Ohms and check the resistance between the valve cover and the battery negative post. The more resistance, the worse the connection. Make sure all grounds are tight. Did you have any problems prior to not being able to start? Any engine mods?

if you say you changed the distributor, then it should have all come with the coil and ignitor, so did you put a while new distributor on, or did you just change coil, did you check the ignition control module, inside the distributor, and did you change the cap and rotor, and wires as well?

Since replacing the distributor, have you again checked for spark? It should be bright white at all four plugs.

With the key in ON(II), what voltage do you measure at the Blk/Yel wire attached to the coil and ICM.

What are the resistance measurements on the new coil?

Is the timing belt stripped?

You found the problem. The coil is toast.

The engine still cranks but does not start, right? Go back to basics. Have you checked for spark and listened for whether the fuel pump primes? Any CEL codes?

i know some of the civics have an inertia switch that cuts off fuel. that might be worth checking too

Did you ever end up checking your grounds as suggested?

If you had a ground problem, the fuel pump would not work.
