Went to the dragstrip again... my car is slow ;(
California Speedway.
R/T .759
60' 2.346
330 6.385
1/8 9.678
MPH 74.43
1000 12.517
1/4 14.935
MPH 94.37
Comptech Icebox, JDM 4-1 header, azenis @ 18psi, hot as ****. I was hitting flat 15's (15.007) all day long then I removed my passenger seat and tried a lower launch (4000) and finally hit 14's. hehe. Either I really suck at driving, or CW R's are slooow, well at least mine.
My buddies were hitting 2.2 60's all day long and running 14.8's.. one is a CRX with a b16a(sir1, itr cams, intake exhaust, chipped ecu), and other was a 97 hatch with a b16a (sir2, intake, jdm 4-1, apex catback).
Any suggestions for the future?

You gotta shift faster
Yeah seriously. I don't think it's that bad considering I know other people hitting almost the same numbers with the same mods.

Bye bye synchros. Doesn't matter how you drive, the damn ITR 2-3 shift will eventually grind.

it shouldnt grind if you knwo how to shift?
i have never grinded when racing the R and its been tracked almost every weekend for 2 seasons so far, but i do think its in shifting . . . the 60ft sarent horrible, but could use some lowering .
take off the ps belt and put your timing to 18 degrees if not already done, that should help . maybe a little less tire pressure

those are decent times....the heat probably played a big factor in your times and hookup. dont let it get you down, lots of room for improvement.
btw, of the two B series motors/trannies Ive had, I never had a problem with shift grindage....sounds like some of you need to learn how to shift?

Everyone runs bad times at Cali Speedway, it's just a slow track I wouldn't get down about it.
EDIT: I ran the same times there with equal mods. However when I raced a modded Eclipse GS-T I beat him

14.9x is what I run on my 2001 ITR with full interior, IceBox, AEM pulleys, Mugen thermostat and radiator cap. I have AEM sprockets but set at 0,0 so these don't count. I had to run about 11 times before I got the hang of the car to pull 14's but now I can do it without much hassle.
I think you just need to practice a little more.

i hope to hell that you were kidding vtecvoodoo. nitrous is the last thing i'd do to any of my cars much less an itr. i don't know about where y'all live but down here in dallas itr's are ultra rare. take care of them dammit! i'd kill for one. and have you ever stopped to consider autocross cars were never built to drag race? that'd be why you are slow. buy a v8 if you want to be fast in a straight line.
Work on your launches... that's where it's at. With an intake, no p/s, advanced timing and no spare, I ran a 14.4. That was with a 2.1 to 2.2 60'. Your trap speed means that mid 14's is doable.... but you have to beat the crap out of your car.
The HEAT is what's killing you. I was at the track a month ago. Couldn't break into the 14's on a hot summer night. This past Friday every run was a 14.8xx, except for the 15.6xx when I missed third gear.
BTW - I'm stock except for an intake.
I wouldn't mess with your tire pressure too much. I only put it down to 25psi. I have noticed that if you lower your tire psi too much, it doesn't do anything for your quarter mile time, but it does lower your mph. Also, if your timeslip doesn't already have it on the slip, write down any info you can think of. I write down the temp, time, date, what the other car in the other lane was, and if I messed up anything (ie- missing gears or bogging launches.) That way you can go back and study them to see where you need to improve.
Its funny, if you race your car on the street, people on this board have a hemorage and tell you to take it to the track. If you take it to the track and then ask for some advice, people on this board tell you to "buy a new car."

the heat and launches is what was killing the time..
I did some runs a year ago, my car was completly stock, never got a good start so I didnt get a better time then 15.07... with a perfect launch I´d say I could have got mid 14´s

18psi.. if i go lower than 30 on street tires - it slows me down.
32psi works best for me with street tires.
btw.. with comptech icebox, - turn signal removed.. my trap speed increased by 1.5mph

listen to socal man I saw his car run the 14.4 and was very impressed...launch very hard...on falken ZE-502's 205/50/15 I did a 2.110 60ft launching at 7500 and ran a 14.108 taking it easy on shifts with I/H/testpipe/ stock B-pipe/axleback/clutch/flywheel/v-afc(untuned) with ps belt on and full interior
When I say that my car is SLOW, I mean slow compared to other comparative ITR times (mid -> high 14's). I don't mean slow as in it's so slow I need to buy a muscle car... stupid asses!
I don't know if I can launch any higher than 5000, I get too much wheel spin! I don't feel too bad, thanks for all the input everybody!
