Default OBD1 Dizzy Issues on 88' Crx...

Hey guys, my last part of my Ls/Vtec project to figure out is to find out which OBD1 Distributor fits like the stock gen 1 b16's TD-22U.

I order the standard TD-44U dizzy that everyone recommends for the OBD0 - OBD1 conversation but it fit horribly so I returned it...

I did some research and here's probably why... The TD-44U is meant for the GSR head and as most parts go the GSR and B16 heads are very different and most parts don't mix/match...

So my question is what is everyone using on their Gen 1 B16 heads for OBD1 Conversations?

From what I can see, the TD-42U from the 92-95 Civics and Del Sol's should work and possibly the TD-87U which was meant for the Type R's which basically had B16b heads and those parts are interchangable!!!

Thanks for your help guys, I do apprecate it and yes I've SEARCHED...

Anthony

I use a TD-44U for my 1st gen B16A swap...it's a real oem dizzy, not aftermarket like 99% of the ones out there, fits and works perfect!!!

Are you sure you put the dizzy in the right way, not 180 degrees out???

b series head castings are essentially identical, any DOHC VTEC b series will fit physically

Did you get it from an auto parts store? What part number did you get? If you get an a1cardone part get this part # 31-17407, this is for the td44 dizzy. When bought mine from my job I had to read it carefully. I looked it up for a 95 del sol vtec model and it listed both the sohc and dohc for the b16. Could be you got the sohc by mistake.

Nah my biggest mistake is I purchased my original TD-44U off Ebay, and I was wondering if the cheap casting was the problem... But that Dizzy looked perfect, but just didn't fit as the center shaft was off a few mm and the bolt holes were off as well... Meaning the dizzy would sit at an angle!

As for the the other question, no I'm pretty sure I was not 180 degrees out or up side down as the bolt holes only line up one way...

I'll look up a few different part numbers and see what you guys think! The last thing I ever thought is that a TD-44U wouldn't fit...

Thanks,

Okay after looking at this link:

http://www.streetimports.com/products.asp?catid=94

I think I'm leaning towards the TD-68U which is suppose to be exactly like the TD-44U... But hopefully this company doesn't use Tawainese castings!

Any other advice or help would be awesome!

Thanks,

Anthony
