ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS.

Seriously... this question is a bit of a fail. I'm usually not an ******* on the internet... but geez.

What do you mean a shell? A roller? A true shell? Active title? Rebuild title? Rust? Body damage? CONDITION...

Depending on the condition, anywhere between 100$ for a bare shell to 5000$ for a decent roller.

It still depends on a lot of things. Year of the shell, how much is still on the shell, ect. Just a rolling shell with everything except the motor can still exceed 10k+. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend, and should be a reasonable amount.

i've seen them go from $3000 that are pretty bare bones, to around $10000 that pretty much just needs the swap like Paul said.

True, however you may be getting one with some dings and dents and other miscellaneous body damage, or beat up interior. I'm no body man so i'd rather take a high priced shell that needs a swap than one that is together and has a beat up body. Of course, that is why you just hold on and wait for a deal and not just settle on the first one you find.

Keep a look out on iaai and copart (among other insurance auctions). It will give you a good idea. Also keep an eye out on the caR for sale thread at the top of this forum. Like everyone mentioned, they vary greatly depending on how bare they are, condition, etc.

Shells have really gotten ridiculous as far as pricing goes. especially since what you have to due to get them running. You can get running type R for around 8,000 with a few problems or high miles. Why people want 6,000 for a shell without original motor and tranny is way beyond me. I looked at two shells and with 5 lug, and koni they were around 2,000.

just buy a itr that is in the $8-10k, it will save you the time and money. as for me i would never spend more then $4k on a itr shell!!!

I still wish we had a separate shell for sale thread. I tried starting one awhile back, and the mods deleted it. It seems like shells rarely get posted in the car for sale thread, and people are always stumbling on a shell that they make an individual thread on. I actually got a decent amount of PMs supporting my idea, but it got shot down. I'm still surprised we don't have one, especially considering how many shell build threads we have on here. Anyways . . . that is my 2 cents . . .

I thought it was a good idea Mike. Every week or two there is always someone saying, "check out this car on copart...". Ah well. At least you tried.

I'll have one for sale shortly...

As far as price is concerned, it really depends on what is included, mileage on shell, condition of shell, condition of title.

I'm going to be asking 6k for mine. Why? Well, it's a 00 PY with less than 70k on it, will include 5 lug, brakes, lines. No motor/trans, but has the original cluster in it still. Also, has a weld in cage (I spent over 2k on that alone)

FS thread to come in the following days.
