WHATS GOING ON HERE?
OK SO I JUST TRADED A 93 COUPE FOR A 91 EF THE EF WITH A D15B7 WILL ONLY REV TO 4 GRAND AND SEEMS TO HIT REV LIMITER NO ITS NOT LAUNCH CONTROL DOES IT IN ALL GEARS ...WHEN DRIVING IF I DOWN SHIFT IT WILL GO ABOVE 4 TO WHAT ITS SUPPOSE TO BE THEN IF I HIT THE GAS IT JUST STARTS TACHING.
SO WE CHECKED THE TIMING AND IN TDC THE CAM GEAR WHERE IT SAYS UP IS AT THE BOTTOM SO ITS 180DEGREES OUT OF TIME...CORRECT?
HERES WHAT I CAME UP WITH
CEL CODES 1,4,14
WHICH 1 IS OXYGEN SENSOR
4 IS CRANKS POSITION SENSOR (THROWING THAT CODE CAUSE ITS OUT OF TIME...CORRECT?)
14 IAC VALVE WHICH IT IDLES SHITTY ANY WAYS IF I CLEANED IT WOULD THAT HELP?(PROBABLY) BUT NOT SURE
SO MY QUESTIONS ARE...
1. WILL BEIN 180 DEGRESS OUT MAKE IT ONLY REV TO 4 GRAND?
2.COULD IT BE INJECTOR BAD? EVEN THO NO CODE IS BEING THROWN?
3.DUDE SAYS HE USED A VTEC ECU BUT THE CARS NON VTEC...WOULDNT IT THROW VTEC CODES OFF THO?
4.COULD IT BE WIRING HARNESS?
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE THA HELP THANK YOU.

ON THE SINGLE CAM THERE are two dash lines aross from each other. when they are parellel to the floor the engine is tdc. if it were 180 out it wouldn't run at all. check the ecu maybe its a auto although i never heard this happing with any ecu. ckp sensor sounds like it could be the culprit but check all your electrical connections especially the alternator
yea i had a 240 awhile ago and i swap the engine forgot to put the power wire back on when i would drive it would sputter up to 4-5k rpm and no higher when i found what it was it ran fine
ALSO JUST BECAUSE THE LINES ARE PARALLEL DOESNT MEAN ITS TDC IT HAS TO TURN 360 DEGRESS CAUSE THINK BOUT IT LIKE THIS IF IT WAS AT TDC THE YOU TURN IT 180 THE LINES ARE STILL PARALELL BUT ITS NOT A TDC
