Default d16y7 in 90 Std Hatch question

will the d15b intake and exhaust manifolds, along with the alternator and distributor bolt on to the d16y7 head and block? The rings in my d15b block are shot, and i think it'd be stupid to rebuild it. I'll eventually go b16a, but for now, i have access to a d16y7 for free. i don't want to hassle with MPFI, 'cause I'd have to buy an ECU and resistor box, and wire it all up, and that's a waste of time and money at this point. I don't care about top performance, just functionality. So, can anyone share any insight on the subject?

the intake and exhaust manifolds should bolt up because they're D-series parts. the distributor - I don't know.

Great! thanks for the info. So, the bolt patterns on the intake/exhaust manifolds are the same between the 4g and 6g parts? What about the ports? Will I have to open anything up? And are you 100% sure that the 4g Std Distrib will bolt right onto the 6g d16y7 head? That would be excellent if so.

Sorry about bumping an old thread, but I am about to try this swap in a 89 Std for a beater. Did this all work out? Everything from the d15 bolts up right? Just making sure before I get to far into this.

Thanks

the D15 dist wont fit.. the bolt pattern is different.. the best is to used the head off the D15 block.. or else ur going to have wiring problems if u stick with the Y7 dist.. what yr is the motor. ???

The motor is out of a 97 hatch. Are you sure about the dist, everywhere else I read and was told it should bolt up.

you have to notch out the obd0 distro top hole for it to work on the 96+ heads...

the y8/hx head distro pattern will work with the obd0 distro w/o any mods to it...

Thanks guys, hopefully get this going in the next couple weeks. Can't drive the ITR everyday and gas in the truck sucks.
