Source a cable B16 tranny (or hydro if you are already using one). Biggest draw back is the LS gearing. Switch to B16 tranny gearing and you should see a big difference.

hmmm makes me want to get to the track with my rex, ive a got a ls swap with a cable b16 tranny.... but i could care less how fast my car is haha. im sure you could get low 15's high 14's. with a b16 tranny and a few more runs with your car to get used to it being on a track.

I just ran my car for the first time last weekend, the best I could eke out was 15.3 at 90.7mph. :-( It was about 80 degrees fahrenheit.

Mods:
first gen jdm b16a (10.2:1 comp) w/non LSD tranny
MSD SS blaster coil and MSD wires
H22 non-VTEC 240cc injectors
no name intake (not a CAI, just the one that runs to the back of the passenger headlight area)
No name 4-1 header, cat delete, and catback 2.5" invidia exhaust

Ran on street tires, 60ft times were steady in the 2.35 range.

I kind of hoped I would run more along the lines of a high 14, if I had run 14.99 I could have left happy.

Is this a normal time or is there something going on?

not bashin or anything but those 1/4mi times are quite low..my 88 crx hf wit a 90' jdm b16 swap ran a 14.4 at 96mph..had all the basic bolt-ons, runnin obd0, and wit hankooks k106..blew the motor and sold the chasis but kept all the B stuff..then purchased a mint tahiti green 91 crx si wit a zc/lsd swap and ran 15.001 at ??mph..had all basic bolt-ons wit jg1001 cam..motor seized and i did a b18a swap using my b16 tranny...ran 15.2 at 91mph..then i installed a jrsc on it and ran 14.9 untuned..slow..then i went and bought a built b18b turbo and ran 12.8 at 110mph..blew that up and went back to n/a lsvtec and runnin a slow 14.1 at 101..take that and see wat u can do or need to go faster..i say turbo tho imo..have fun wit ur ls..

The one thing that throws off these threads are location!!!! And what i mean by that is that some people are lucky to make good power and run at close to sea level. Others, like myself, live in a city that is 3600 feet above sea level, and because the air is so much thinner, everyone runs up to a full second slower times at the track in the 1/4 mile

If your stuck in Cali I imagine 91 oct doesn't help either. I had an LS with B16 LSD tranny in a hatch. I only had an intake, and a 2.5" exhaust. Only got 4 passes at the track but my best there was a 15.03. My best 60 ft was a 1.8

Peter I think you ment to say the 1/4 times are high...or slow

getting a better tranny with a higher final drive should help you a lot.

mid to low 15's is perfectly acceptable for a bone stock LS swap in a CRX to run on STREET TIRES. results would vary depending on the health of the motor and trim of crx-Si, DX, HF(weight)...

anyways, i ran a 15.13@92mph w/ a 60ft. of 2.26

my set-up was a 88 crx HF. super healthy 91 b18a OBD0 200psi compression across the board.
taiwan short ram intake
stock 94' 4-2-1 header,
cat-delete,
2.25in. RSr catback exhaust
91 octane, advanced ignition timing 2 degrees,
on 195/50/15 KLEBER(chinese tires)

on properly sized slicks, if you can get a 60 foot of 1.6-1.9 most of you would be doing high 14' easy.

a good clutch and slicks would go a long way.
