I just installed new bulbs in my JDM HIDs and now the passenger side low beam only stays on for about 20 seconds at a time. I thought the bulb blew at first, but everytime it hapepens all i do is flick the lights off/on and it works for another ~20 seconds. Any idea on what's causing this? They're cheap ebay bulbs because I wasn't sure if the ballast was still good...not sure if that matters?

 

Test it with a known good bulb.

 

Check the fuse first...

 

from my experience your having a issue with your ballast, same as the other guy. so time to test them. swap bulbs and ballast on eachother. it a process off elimination on what isnt working correctly

 

If not, i might have oem jdm ballasts for sale. Be advised, the left is different from the right!

Update: It was the cheap eGay bulbs. The connector for the ballast wasn't staying on it no matter how I tried it. Switched back to the Phillips bulbs and the connector went right on and the lights work perfectly now.

The whole problem which I thought was a bulb, turned out to be just the little 10 amp fuse for the passenger side headlight. And thinking about it I know exactly when it happened. Oh well I lined up my bumper and headlights a lot better while I was at it
